Isn't it always fascinating to see the great variety of garden birds that we can regularly enjoy visiting our gardens? There are just a few key elements in a garden's design that can make a huge difference when it comes to drawing in our avian friends.
It is helpful to birds all year round to have feeding stations to visit, but particularly during the winter months. Creating feeding stations in the right places, with a variety of food types and feeder types is essential.
Having a water provision for birds is also a fantastic way of encouraging species into our gardens and provides us with a great opportunity to observe their natural behaviour. Birds will be delighted to have a drink or a wash in the right environment.
Plants, Shrub, Trees & Nest Boxes
A great way of encouraging more birds into gardens is to have a range of cultivated and native plants to provide food, shelter and nesting spaces. Including some nest boxes in your garden may well be greatly appreciated by visiting small garden birds. Birds can be quite fussy when it comes to nest box location however!
